Standing against calls for tax increases, Scott worked with others to successfully reduce county spending by more than 10 percent. Dear Wayne County Friends,
You are my employer, I work for you. Behind every dollar local government spends, I see your face and remember your struggles during this economic crisis. That is why I ask myself a simple question every day in office, "Am I being a good steward of YOUR hard earned tax dollars." With this question ever before me I strive to work towards greater efficiency in the way local government serves you. President Reagan once stated, "Status Quo is Latin for 'the mess were in'" Status Quo is not an option.
We expect the Federal Government to operate with greater responsibility - instead they have stifled prosperity and saddled generations to come with trillions of dollars of debt. Fiscal responsibility must start somewhere. Please stand with me so that we may always ensure it starts with Wayne County.
